I still like the virtuoso wood, despite the fact that i'm now hearing what i'm not getting out of the lps with it, and am not going to really upgrade yet. I've had both and would say that, by the prevailing 'hifi' standards of things like detail retrieval, the 2m is better.

If you like the 2m black, then stick with. Now the mk5 is $400 and the denon is available for about $100. Ortofon 2m bronze mm is also excellent. I've been using a 103 or 103r for several years, including the zu version, and have installed a 103r into an aftermarket aluminum body.

A fully automatic direct drive with a dynamically dampened and stabilized tonearm, an ortofon 2m black cartridge, run through the scott 299c to my klipsch cornwalls. Use it as is, and when it's time for a new stylus, have. Now i would like to say there are no downsides yet but that would not be. The 2m black did not.

Nowadays, that is not possib. I've been using a 103 or 103r for several years, including the zu version, and have installed a 103r into an aftermarket aluminum body. Years ago this cartridge use to cost about the same as the dynavector 10x mk4. But, i much preferred listening to music with the 103. The sound is simply stunning.

When the production of this model for the. While the power of the performance was still there the overdriving was not. The cartridge does not have threads, but the screws can be. It has a different sound than the denon 103 series of cartridges, perhaps more analytical as opposed to the robust sound of the 103 and 103r, imo. I.
